The Department of Environmental & Technological Studies at St. Cloud State University is seeking applications from qualified candidates for a tenure-track faculty position at the Assistant or Associate Professor level in the area of Technology Education with an appointment starting date of August 21, 2018. The department is interdisciplinary by design and offers 5 majors: Environmental Studies, Environmental Science, Manufacturing Engineering Technology, Technology Management (Construction Management and Industrial Technology), and Technology Education. They should be willing to participate in teaching using alternative delivery methods such as online and hybrid. The responsibilities of this faculty position include teaching Technology Education undergraduate and graduate courses, advising students in these programs, supervising field experiences including student teaching, maintaining labs related to teaching responsibilities, and maintaining licensure and accreditation of Technology Education programs.

In order to be considered for tenure and promotion, the candidate will demonstrate the ability to: teach effectively, produce a record of scholarly or creative achievement or research, participate in continuing preparation and study, contribute to student growth and development, and provide service to the department, university, and/or community*. *Employment for this position is covered by the collective bargaining agreement for the Inter Faculty Organization which can be found at:

Qualifications and experience:


· Doctorate in Technology Education or closely related field

· Progressive teaching experience in Technology Education (grades 5-12)

· Progressive teaching experience in Higher Education (2 or 4-year school)

· Supervisory experience of student teachers in a higher education setting

· Evidence of demonstrated ability to teach and work with persons from culturally diverse backgrounds


· Experience with Board of Teaching and teaching licensure or other external program review processes

· Record of securing grant and external funding

· Experience with STEM outreach programs (e.g. Project Lead the Way)

· Secondary expertise in an academic area supporting departmental programs (e.g. construction)
