Job Description:/h3:
Doherty Career Solutions has an EHS Specialist opportunity working with a respected automotive manufacturer in St. Cloud. As an integral part of the Human Resources Team, you will be responsible for emergency and hazard response activities, identification and assessment of Environmental, Health and Safety (EHS) issues and performance improvement through the development and implementation of programs focused on safety and prevention. Furthermore, you will be responsible for ISO/OHSAS Program and audit support as well as provide expertise on daily operational support, development and promotion of EHS and compliance policies and procedures.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES and RESPONSIBILITIES:
:Provide oversight of Environmental, Health and Safety initiatives for the St. Cloud, MN location and other assigned facilities. Prepare detailed reports, recommendations and proposals for future production activities and facility improvement initiatives.
:Minimize hazardous conditions which may lead to human injury and/or property damage through engineering, administration and/or personal protective equipment (PPE) control measures.
:Support all facility projects associated with EHS.
:Ensure ongoing EHS program application, consistency and enforcement. Review and approve appropriate personal protective equipment for plant applications.
:Provide consolidated reporting, coordination of EHS projects and improvement initiatives, program development, system manual updates and the development of internal processes.
:Assist and support the internal/external audit program, including the development of schedules, audit reports and corrective actions.
:Review all accident reports for thoroughness of investigations and adequacy or corrective actions, and assist in the investigation of all work:related accidents, incidents, and occupational illnesses. Maintain related records, perform analysis to identify trends and causes. Develop recommendations and proposals to prevent reoccurrence. Support claims management personnel and the return to work process.
:Develop and maintain facility emergency response procedures. Ensure all EHS inspections are completed on time and that follow up action is implemented if needed.
:Identify and develop the required EHS education materials and deliver employee training to impacted employees.
:Facilitate compliance with all federal, state and local environmental, health and safety regulatory and reporting requirements, corporate standards, and related Plant procedures.
REQUIRED/PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS:
:Post:secondary education in Occupational Safety, Health or Environmental Engineering is preferred
:Minimum of 3:5 years work experience with responsibilities in occupational safety, health and/or facility management is required
:Knowledge of Federal, State and local Environmental, Health and Safety requirements
:Motivated self:starter with capabilities to multi task and work within a fast paced team oriented environment
:Excellent communication and presentation skills
:Strong organizational, analytical and interpersonal skills
